our materials accepted

Barnes Composting Facility is permitted to accept a wide range of organic material including food, manure, and agricultural residuals. Contact us if you have a product you would like to discuss diverting from the landfill at 800-421-8722. We accept clean, source separated yard waste (not mingled with other trash) delivered by the truckload or in paper bags at our Camp Road Composting Facility. Materials we accept inlcude:

  • yard wastebrush
  • tree trimmings (13" diameter or less)
  • grass
  • leaves
  • yard trimmings
  • wood chips * No treated lumber
  • sod
  • soil
  • Christmas trees

If yard waste is collected in plastic garbage bags, individuals delivering the material must empty the bags on site and dispose of them in the receptacles. Barnes cannot accept yard waste in plastic bags. ALL PLASTIC MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE MATERIAL AS IT IS DUMPED ON SITE! Barnes provides receptacles on site for plastic and other non-compostables.

Barnes reserves the right to refuse any load when contamination is observed.
