Barnes has developed a variety of soils for best performance in landscape, lawn and garden applications. Beginning with virgin topsoil, Barnes adds sand and compost in various proportions to create enhanced soils that are higher in organic content and improved structure for better water retention and drainage. We can also custom blend soils to meet your specifications.

What type of soil do I need?

Examine your existing soil. Note its texture--does it appear heavy in sand or clay? How are you going to use the new soil--landscape planting, lawn, garden or to fill a spot on the back of the property? Determine which of the following would be best for your application. Bulk or Bagged

Bulk soils are sold from a half cubic yard to 8 cubic yards and can be loaded in your truck or delivered by Barnes to your home or job site. Call Barnes Nursery to order a delivery at 419-433-5525 or 800-421-8722.

If you choose to pick up your soil, simply drive your truck into our Compost site off of Camp Road and we will load it. We load 7 days per week. You can pay with a credit card to cash right there at the site. See Composting for hours of operation.
